Start with the window, not a brand list

How to read a quote

The usual mistake is accepting a low fabric number that quietly excludes tracks, install, GST, or motor kits. Ask for a written breakdown. Confirm whether measurement is free, whether installers are in-house, and what happens if site sizes differ from the first estimate.

• Made-to-measure — off-the-shelf panels rarely hit HDB reveals cleanly.
• Warranty in writing — fabric, mechanism, and workmanship as separate lines if they differ.
• Lead time — custom indoor work is usually measured in weeks, not days.
• Aftercare — who adjusts a dropped fold or a noisy chain after handover.

Curtain styles that work here

• Ripple fold — even S-waves; clean on tracks and with motors.
• Pinch / double pleat — tailored living rooms and master bedrooms.
• Eyelet — easy to draw; check rod clearance at the ceiling.
• S-fold / wave — similar to ripple fold with a slightly tighter rhythm.

Blind types

• Roller — compact, easy to wipe, blackout or solar fabrics.
• Venetian — slat-level light control in aluminium or wood-look.
• Roman — fabric that folds up; softer than a roller in dining rooms.
• Combi / zebra — alternating sheer and opaque bands for quick day-to-privacy shifts.
• Vertical — practical on wide sliding doors.

Outdoor zip blinds (not Ziptrak®)

For balconies, indoor rollers will not last. Outdoor zip blinds guide the cloth in side zip tracks so wind and rain are less likely to wreck the fabric. Ziptrak® is a competitor trademark. Motorised options

Motors earn their keep on high panes, stacked living-dining glass, and households that want a single remote or smart-home scene. Indoor motorised curtains and blinds are a different kit from outdoor zip-blind motors. We can specify Somfy where the opening and load call for it. Google Home and Alexa compatibility applies to supported motorised outdoor kits.
